Here at First Presbyterian, we have a tradition of celebrating when children memorize Scripture, prayers, books of the Bible and creeds of the faith. We call these Milestone Moments and we mark them on a Sunday morning in front of the congregation.
Why would we do this? Because we want the children to have God's Word on their hearts so much that when they do, we celebrate as a family of faith. In recognition, we also give each child a wooden faith chest in which they can keep their milestones of the faith-a keepsake card of their memory verse, special moments in their faith journey, their Bibles, etc. Watch for Milestone Moments twice a year.
