TURNER MEMORIAL FUND
f
or Emergency Assistance

One of the main objectives of the First Presbyterian Church mission statement is “We will love others through service after the example of Christ.” The goal of the Turner Memorial Fund is to help covenant partners of First Presbyterian Church through financial crises as well as assist non-members in the community with utility bills. The fund is named in memory of Dr. Fred P. Turner, a former pastor, who was instrumental in helping many individuals and families in emergency situations.

The funds for this ministry are solely dependent upon member contributions which are greatly needed and appreciated. The Turner Memorial Fund is implemented by the Congregational Care Directory and assisted by a subcommittee made up of the  Finance Director, Stewardship Director, and a Deacon of First Presbyterian Church. Interviews are held during the summer and winter months with those in the community who need assistance with utility bills. Covenant partners of FPC facing a financial crisis are encouraged to contact the Congregational Care Director to request an appointment.

For further information or to request an appointment or interview, contact Congregational Care Director Tammy Burkhalter, 565.0943 or tburkhalter@firstpresgreenville.org.
